The Cogir Grand Gatherings: Over 2,000 Residents United Across Quebec

A dozen festive get-togethers, more than 2,000 residents gathered from one end of Quebec to the other, and an atmosphere filled with joy for life — the Cogir Grand Gatherings have become a highlight in the annual calendar of Cogir residences. “It’s a day for them, where they can truly live in the moment, celebrate their passions, and feel part of a large community,” emphasizes the coordination team.

Walks, Dancing, and a Burst of Talent
Each event began with a collective walk of either 500 meters or one kilometer, open to everyone. Then came the music and dancing: DJs, hosts, and line-dancing sessions energized the day. Residents proudly wore accessories in their residence colors — a festive touch that made it easy to recognize one another and strengthened their sense of belonging.
But the true magic of these gatherings lay in their artistic showcase. Every residence contributed: dance routines, accordion music, solo songs, improvisation, theater, storytelling, poetry readings, and even art exhibits — all shared in a wave of energy and good humor.
The program also featured a special guest, singer Charles Pomerleau, who lent his voice to one of the day’s most memorable moments.

A Year-Round Celebration
These major gatherings are part of a broader initiative — the Live Fully Festival (Festival Vivre pleinement) — which brings life and joy to the residences all year long. This past spring, “green yoga” sessions, Mother’s Day photobooths, a virtual horticulture conference in May, and a summer concert tour (with tributes to Francis Cabrel, the Bee Gees, the Beatles, and more) paved the way for these inter-residence celebrations.
“The goal is to multiply opportunities to create memories, laugh, move, and share,” explains Marie-Pierre Côté-Portelance, Corporate Leisure Director. “The Grand Gatherings are the culmination of all that work.”

A Movement Highlighted by the Media
The magnitude of the event did not go unnoticed — TVA Nouvelles covered the festivities in a feature broadcast from September 20 to 26, capturing the dynamism and vitality that characterize Cogir residences.
Beyond the music and activities, these gatherings reflect a shared desire to make residences vibrant, inspiring places to live. By focusing on creativity, participation, and joy, our residences prove that housing and a festive quality of life can go hand in hand. “Here, we don’t just grow old together. We live fully — and we do it in style!” laughs one resident, still glowing from her singing performance.
