Read moreThe first Cogir Foundation fundraising activity was held on May 25. The event took place at the Rive Gauche Hotel and was planned as a friendly evening of networking among various business partners and members of the Cogir Real Estate team. Thanks to the participants’ great generosity, net donations exceeded $412,000. As Cogir had committed to matching the amount collected during the evening, a total of $825,000 will be distributed among various organizations throughout the country.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our partners for their great generosity and their participation during this evening. Every contribution, big or small, to better people’s lives is not only necessary, but also gratifying and rewarding. Thanks to these generous gifts, the Foundation will be able to give back much more and make a difference in the lives of a great many people who are in need,” declared Mathieu Duguay, Cogir Real Estate’s chief executive officer.
“We are delighted to support the Cogir Foundation. The testimony that we have heard tonight from some of the organizations being supported clearly reveals how the Foundation’s actions improve the daily lives of young people, of seniors and of new arrivals as well as help the environment,” added Guy Choquette, Vice President, Québec at GESPRA, a firm specialized in supply chain solutions and one of the event’s Diamond Partners.
“Cooperation is at the heart of Mouvement Desjardins. Cogir’s focus on the human touch and its proximity to the individual is quite well aligned with our own values. We are very happy to contribute to the Foundation’s success, thereby enhancing the lives of people and communities through its endeavours,” said Pierre-Philippe Harvey, senior account manager at Desjardins which is also one of the event’s Diamond Partners.
“One of KPMG’s values is to do what is needed for the greatest good. With the thoroughness it displays in the allocation of funds, its aggregate decisions and the impact of its action, the Cogir Foundation epitomizes that value. We are proud to be an active contributor in creating a better world by supporting the Foundation,” concluded Alexandre Plouffe partner, audit at KPMG Canada, another Diamond Partner.
In addition to the Diamond Partners, the highest partnership level, three companies have also provided their support to the Foundation as Platinum Partners, namely the Altus Group, JG Fruits et légumes and National Excavation. Finally, over 40 people working with Cogir have provided support for the event as Gold or Silver Partners.
The Cogir Foundation supports causes that fall under four specific themes: those that favour an enriching education and active lifestyle for young people, those that help to preserve the mental and physical health of seniors, those that assist in the inclusion and integration of new arrivals and those that contribute to the well-being of the planet.
