Read moreThe Cogir Foundation’s second fund-raising activity was held on March 27. Drawing its inspiration from the sugaring season, the event took place at the Rive Gauche Hotel and took the form of a friendly evening of networking over a tasty meal among various business partners and members of the Cogir Real Estate team. Thanks to the participants’ great generosity, net donations exceeded $900,000. Given Cogir’s commitment to match the donations collected during the evening, the funds to be distributed among various organizations throughout the country will total of $1,812,750.
“Since the Foundation’s creation in 2021, I have had the pleasure of learning about many organizations that, through concrete action, make a real difference in people’s lives, sometimes among the most vulnerable. I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart our partners and associates who have stepped up in response to our invitation. Thanks to their great benevolence, the Foundation will be even more generous. It’s a great privilege!” declares Mathieu Duguay, Cogir Real Estate’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer.
“As a longtime partner of our Cogir friends, First National is proud to be associated with a great cause that makes such a difference in the lives of so many people. Supporting education, an active lifestyle for less privileged youth and help for seniors in preserving their mental and physical health, are goals that the Cogir Foundation has adopted and that First National embraces. We look forward to seeing the results of this action over the years and we wish much success to Cogir and its Foundation in their future fund-raising efforts and in the distribution of their resources to many great causes,” states Moray Tawse, Executive Vice President of First National, a Partner Sponsor.
“A leader shows the way, but it is the team that makes the trek possible,” says Isabelle Côté, President and General Manager of Coffrage Synergie, a Sponsor Partner.
“Sowing the seeds of happiness is the mark that our business’s success will leave behind,” adds Guy Choquette, Vice President, Quebec, for Gespra and Quasep, Sponsor Partner.
“Cooperation is at the heart of Mouvement Desjardins. The Cogir Foundation’s focus on the human touch and its proximity to the individual is quite well aligned with our own values. We are pleased to contribute to the Foundation’s success, and thereby, through its endeavours, to enhance the lives of people and communities,” says Pierre-Philippe Harvey, General Manager in Desjardins’ Real Estate Financing Group, Business Service, also a Partner Sponsor of the event.
The Foundation has also been able to count on the generosity of Gordon Food Services as Partner Sponsor and of Atelier du Chef as Major Partner.
In addition to the Partner Sponsors and the Major Sponsor, the two highest partnership levels, five (5) businesses have given their support to the Foundation as Diamond Partners, namely Aon, KPMG, Merakey, Multitech and Telus. Finally, some 80 people working with Cogir have provided support for the event as Gold or Silver Partners.
The Cogir Foundation supports causes that fall under four specific themes: those that favour an enriching education and active lifestyle for young people, those that help to preserve the mental and physical health of seniors, those that assist in the inclusion and integration of new arrivals and those that contribute to the well-being of the planet.
