Jazz St-Bruno opens up to the community

At Jazz St-Bruno, family spirit and human values are at the heart of every actions. On December 4th, the residence hosted a spaghetti dinner open to all, bringing together nearly 80 guests in support of a worthy cause: the Maison des jeunes (MDJ) of Saint-Bruno. Thanks to this collective effort, a donation of nearly $2,500 was raised for this organization, which plays a crucial role in the lives of young people in our community.

The event was more than just a meal; it embodied our desire to forge intergenerational bonds and give back to our community. A total of $2,000 was raised through the dinner, with an additional $400 contributed via a 50/50 raffle. In a touching gesture, the raffle winner chose to donate their prize directly to the MDJ.

“We are proud to support a cause that is close to our hearts,” shared Joanie Pagé, Director of Jazz Saint-Bruno. This partnership is especially meaningful, as some of the teens who attend the MDJ also work in our kitchens and dining room. This connection between generations perfectly illustrates the mission of Jazz: to create a truly inclusive and welcoming living environment.

For Caroline Gauthier, Executive Director of the MDJ, this support is invaluable: “The Jazz team is fantastic, and their involvement makes a real difference in our community.” This enthusiasm is shared by the entire Jazz team, who are already planning to renew the experience in the spring—this time in support of the Centre d’action bénévole (CAB) Les P’tits Bonheurs, an organization that also helps many of our residents.

At Cogir, we believe that the true meaning of community lies in sharing, helping one another, and building human connections. At Jazz Saint-Bruno, we are proud to embody these values and to be part of a community as close-knit as Saint-Bruno.
