Read moreCFER des Sources (Center for Business and Recycling Training) offers young people aged 15 to 21, often facing learning or adaptation difficulties, a unique pathway of preparatory training for work. This program aims to develop autonomy, rigor, respect, commitment, and effort among students. Thanks to adapted facilities and a supportive environment, these young individuals become engaged citizens and productive workers, ready to enter the job market.
At the core of its activities, CFER des Sources distinguishes itself with its wood pallet recycling project. Students transform these recovered materials into new items, known as “On CFER creations”. These creations range from seasonal decorations to garden bins and libraries. This process allows young people to develop practical skills, self-confidence, and manual dexterity while promoting sustainability awareness.
Additionally, the program includes “Sustainable Development Caravans”, interactive presentations aimed at educating diverse audiences on recycling, energy efficiency, and water conservation. These presentations are adaptable and can be offered as escape games, digital formats, or booths, and are provided free of charge.
CFER des Sources, a member of the network of 24 CFER school-businesses, has recently received a $10,000 donation from the Cogir Foundation. This financial support will enable the institution to acquire essential equipment to continue its educational and ecological mission.
The $10,000 donation from the Cogir Foundation comes at a crucial time. CFER des Sources’ activities are constrained by financial limitations, including the purchase of construction materials, tool maintenance, and student safety. This donation will help cover some of these costs, ensuring the continuity and expansion of the institution’s educational and ecological projects.
Part of this grant will be used to acquire audio-visual equipment, paving the way for the creation of digital capsules. These videos will allow the dissemination of Sustainable Development Caravan presentations to a broader audience, while reducing students’ anxiety related to memorization and public speaking. Moreover, this project will enable students to develop skills in image capture, sound recording, and video editing, thus broadening their skill set and motivation.
The Cogir Foundation’s donation is more than just financial assistance. It represents recognition of CFER des Sources’ hard work and ongoing efforts to offer a better future to its students while contributing to a more sustainable world. Thanks to this support, CFER des Sources will continue to train autonomous, engaged youth ready to meet the challenges of the job market, all while promoting essential ecological values.
