Cogir Real Estate Partners with Bo to Phase Out Single-Use Food Packaging

Bo is proud to announce a partnership with Cogir Real Estate in a major initiative to phase out single-use food packaging since the second quarter of 2023. As part of the collaboration, Cogir has introduced 8o’s innovative reusable containers across all its vast network of private senior residences.

The partnership between Bo & Cogir represents a significant milestone in raising industry standards in the quality & sustainability of food packaging in Québec. By transitioning to reusable products with Bo, Cogir expects to reduce its plastic waste by over 1 million single-use containers per year.

“We are thrilled to partner with a local Québec company [Bo] to offer our residents sustainable and innovative food packaging solutions,” said Jean-Éric Lemieux, Regional Food & Beverage Director at Cogir. “Our commitment to deliver exceptional standards of living is an integral part of our company’s identity, and we are always looking for ways to improve user experience on all facets. Implementing Bo’s innovative reusable packaging solution is an excellent example of our drive towards continual improvement.”

Bo’s reusable containers are made from high-quality, durable polypropylene plastic that adheres to the highest food & safety standards. The containers are designed to be light for ease of transport, with a solid latch to minimize leaks & are clear-lidded for visuals in the kitchen to minimize errors & food waste. They can also be safely processed through industrial dishwasher equipment for proper washing & sanitizing for over 1000 uses.

“We at Bo are very conscious that food packaging is but a tool for food service providers to deliver their products safely while preserving their integrity & enhancing consumer experience,” said Mishel Wong, CEO of Bo. “Our team is committed towards developing practical reusable solutions that best fit our clients’ processes with a range of quality products, technological innovations & value-added services so that sustainability makes business sense.”

The collaboration between Cogir and Bo represents a significant step in raising awareness on how reusable packaging solutions can help reduce the environmental & economical impact of the waste generated by single-use products in Québec. This partnership comes at a time when the importance of sustainable business practices is increasingly recognized by companies, consumers & government organizations alike.
