Cogir Real Estate Launches the Cogir Foundation

Cogir Real Estate is pleased to announce the launch today of the Cogir Foundation. Drawing from the company’s mission and values, namely human focus, creativity and excellence, the mission of the Cogir Foundation is to make a positive and practical difference by improving the daily lives of young people, seniors and new arrivals in the country while also participating in the implementation of environment-friendly initiatives.

“This is a great moment for the company. Helping to improve the everyday life of people in a small or in a big way is not only necessary, but also quite gratifying and rewarding. With so many causes that need support, the foundation will allow us to better frame our donation policy, leading to improved effectiveness and greater generosity. The foundation enhances our passion for what we do, namely providing people with unique living environments in which everyone can thrive and be happy,” declares Mathieu Duguay, Cogir Real Estate’s chief executive officer.

The foundation supports four specific themes. Among the selected causes will be those that favour an enriching education and active lifestyle for young people, those that help to preserve the mental and physical health of seniors, those that assist in the inclusion and integration of new arrivals and those that contribute to the well-being of the planet. The grant committee consists of seven (7) colleagues from the company, drawn from its corporate offices and from Cogir-managed properties. This committee will meet quarterly to analyze the applications that have been sent in and select the causes that will receive support.

“We had our first introductory committee meeting a few weeks ago. I am honoured to be part of this dynamic and motivated team. I am looking forward to our first selection committee meeting. It promises to generate some great discussions,” adds Brigitte Pouliot, Cogir Real Estate’s communications director and member of the foundation’s Board.

Also, the foundation expects to eventually carry out a large-scale annual fundraising event.
