With the merger of both teams, their expertise, their projects and their business relationships, we are creating a leading player in the province of Québec’s construction industry.
Raymond Paré will become president and partner for the Sotramont — Cogir Construction Division, thereby merging the operations of both entities. Together with Marc-André Roy, he will remain active in the development activities of Sotramont Canada Inc.
Ianick Charbonneau, VP finance and operations, will retain his non-construction duties within Cogir’s real estate development division. He will report directly to Mathieu Duguay, Cogir Real Estate’s CEO and chief investment officer. Marc Doré, previously president of Cogir Real Estate’s construction and real estate development division will now be the chief strategic initiative officer and will report directly to Mathieu Duguay.
“I am quite proud of this alliance and I have great confidence that it will bolster our construction and development activities. Raymond is a renowned business partner and a long-time friend. He will help to shape our division to face the long-term challenges by integrating the best practices within both organizations,” stated Mathieu Duguay.
“We are delighted to see our teams come together and work hand in hand on our current and upcoming projects. Our alliance is but the natural evolution of the cooperation that exists between both organizations. No short-term change will affect either organization other than working as a team to shape the future under a common vision, for the benefit of both groups. We will strive to enhance cooperation and share best practices to create a more efficient team to dominate our markets. This alliance will increase the growth opportunities for all our teams and partners. We will therefore become one of the major builders with the ability to initiate projects within a challenging market that has experienced a nearly 50% drop in construction starts over the last eight (8) months,” added Raymond Paré.
